Oprah’s Religion

The phenomenon of television bytes has created an impersonal opportunity to experience emotional moments.  Oprah, one of many who have taken advantage of this, in some ways create their own religion, a godless perspective.  They convince their audiences to leave traditional values for post-modernism.  Oprah is a face for secular culture and despises the conservative view.  Her show is about promoting subjectivity and emotionalism that agrees with secular culture and especially promotes atheism.  There is nothing objective about it.

When Oprah refers to God, she is clear to insist that this means no specific god and entails no particular theological commitments…Her substitution of spirituality for biblical Christianity, her promotion of forgiveness without atonement, and her references to a god “without labels” puts her at the epicenter of a seismic cultural earthquake.

Check out the interview with Josh McDowell on the American View about his new book, “O” God: A Dialogue on Truth and Oprah’s Spirituality.
