Sarah Palin would do more for Women if she stayed at home

Why?  Because she is setting herself up as a role model for future generations of women.  She both claims to be a Christian (though, what does that mean?  There are no public confessions of faith in Jesus Christ that I know of) and a pro-family woman with at least a public school knowledge of the founders.  Based on her actions she contradicts these two claims of hers and proves she neither believes in the Bible as the inspired Word of God and has no interest in the family at all next to her career.  Most Christians don’t really care what the Bible says on the matter and are clueless as to what our founding fathers had to say on the topic of government and God as well!  Why do they continue to leave the Bible outside of the voting booth and give this partisan and clueless woman their time and pledge of support?

On the issue of the founders she gets it all wrong.  On April 20th, 2010 she called the USA a “Christian Nation” and then said this of George Washington, “Lest anyone try to convince you that God should be separated from the state, our founding fathers, they were believers,” said Palin. “And George Washington, he saw faith in God as basic to life.”  George Washington saw a relationship with Jesus Christ as basic to life- faith in Jesus Christ as basic.  What does George Washington’s faith have to do with separation of Church and state?  She could have said George W. Bush’s faith in God as basic.  It is such a general and clueless statement on the issue!  There is more to the issue of separation of Church and state and that requires dilligent study of God’s word..  Start with Romans 13.  The founders saw separation of Church and state clearly.  The church has its functions and the state has its, but both are accountable to God.  That fact is inescapable as is evident by the prayers held at the conventions early on and is somewhat mirrored by our Presidents feigning prayers to God today.

On the issue of being a Bible believing Christian where is her public confession of faith?  Why isn’t her husband instead running for office?  Why is he a stay at home dad?  Sarah Palin has not read the Bible if her actions/fruit are any indication of her knowledge of its contents.  If she was really a woman of faith or as she likes to call herself a “mom of faith” she would be taking care of the home and her children while her husband enters politics in the gate.  What does Paul say about women in even the church?  1 Corinthians 14:34-35 says, The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.  If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church.”  In Titus 2:3-5 says, “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.”  And again in 1 Timothy 5:14-15 says, “Therefore, I want younger widows to get married, bear children, keep house, and give the enemy no occasion for reproach; for some have already turned aside to follow  Satan.”  Quite a contrast to Sarah Palin and society’s view of women in politics.

My challenge to you is how can you support a woman in politics with Scripture in mind?  The question naturally arises “where are the godly men?”  It is to your shame and judgement as God put it in Isaiah and Judges to have a woman rule over you.  “O My people! Their oppressors are children, And women rule over them O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths.”  “She said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the honor shall not be yours on the journey that you are about to take, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.

The most influential women of history are the unsung heroes of the faith.

If Robert Dabney (1820-1898) be correct when he says “The education of children for God is the most important business done on earth. It is the one business for which the earth exists. To it, all politics, all war, all literature, all money-making, ought to be subordinated; and every parent, especially, ought to feel, every hour of the day, that, next to making his own calling and election sure, this is the end for which he is kept alive by God— this is his task on earth.”  then there can be no greater calling for women than in the home and there can be no greater calling to husbands to lead their wives in such a pursuit.

The founders held these truths to be self evident that all people are created equal before the law of God.  However, we let the atheists interpret for us as simply “created equal” and leave it at that.  This is where we let our minds drift as Christians.  Being influenced by secular society we have allowed this doctrine of gender/role equality to infiltrate the Church and our notions of godly family, godly roles.  We have women running for office, women leading church ministries, women abandoning the home for career.  I challenge you, Christian, to read the Bible once more and to seek to use it as a magnifying glass on all of the issues it talks about and that you have questions about– and it talks about everything.  There is not a thing that God overlooks.
