About the Author

I am my father’s son by birth, Christ’s soldier by grace, man by choice, and preservationist by calling.  “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation,” said Thoreau and “Every man thinks meanly of himself for not having been a soldier, or not having been at sea,” says Dr. Samuel Johnson.  Consider also that “humor is about laughter, but I consider it to derive from the situation rather than to define the situation” according to Aaron Allston.  And think of the freedom that lies in the mountains as Jesus did when “after He had dismissed them, [He] went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone” in Matthew 14:23.  I think also that children are such interrupters of unimportant things.
