Maximum Individual Liberties

There ought not be any federal involvement when it comes to the individual except where that individual infringes on the rights of another in manners contrary to the law.

On February 25th, 2008 Bush announced that the GOP will hold the White House. As if the party is more important than America, “I’m confident we’ll hold the White House in 2008,” he says. See the video here.

This country and its governing officials have forgotten and continue to forget that the issues are more important than the two party system. Bush announced this party power speech in light of wholesale inflation going on. Read the whole article here. But inflation doesn’t matter in our country as long as a rebuplican is at the wheel and steers the course in Iraq.

From day one it seems that our government is concerned more about maintaining power than anything else. And when a candidate presents a threat to that chokehold the media is payed off to shut him out of the system as was the case with Ron Paul.

The system has got to be stopped and Americans simply must wake up to this threat to individual liberties. The nation will die as it gives up liberty in the name of security by buying into the government motto: “You need us.”

Did you know that census answers are required by law?  At least when I first wrote about my census experience on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11:16pm..

This is democracy???!

I received a letter in the mail from the US Census Bureau. It states that I must answer these questions and mail it back. It is the law it says. What kind of law is this? Are you nuts? Are you crazy? This is democracy? I don’t have a choice.. and here is why:

“Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I, II, IV, and V of chapter of this title, applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not more than $100. ”

Who comes up with this stinking pile of garbage? and then listen to this:

“Participating in the census is in the individuals’ own self interest. People who answer the census help their communities obtain federal and state funding and valuable information for planning schools, hospitals, roads, and more. For example, census information helps decision makers understand which neighborhoods need new schools and which ones need greater services for the elderly. But they will not be able to tell what your neighborhood needs if you do not fill out your census form.”

Ok. So if I do not fill out this form which should be a right to choose.. right? I choose not to, right? Wrong. If I choose not to return this census I am going to be fined “not more than $100” AND an official will come and visit to follow up on the questionaire personally anyways!

I am so furious with my tax dollars hard at work!!!

Will I answer this census. YES. Am I happy about this waste of time that is in my “own self interest” absolutely NOT. it is with gritted teeth that I render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.

I cannot believe our politicians keep up this mask and pretend we are living in a democracy. I can’t stand it.
